Let's party with Greg, Mike and Todd !

So it looks like the party had begun.
John Scott (V7N, Bluefind Directory & Sevenseek) announced it last Friday, the 14th January, on his forum.
Everything started the 20th December when he announced the contest on his forum.
I must admit that the prize, 1.000$, wasn't very motivating, even when Greg Boser (WebGuerrilla) jumped in and doubled the prize...but Greg came up with its own rules, and then everything became different.
Instead of requiring a link to the V7N website, Greg is asking a link to the non-canonical version of Matt Cutts' blog (mattcutts.com rather than www.mattcutts.com)....ha ha ha !
Matt's blog has already faced some problems in the past, being GoogleWashed (remember "Bacon Polenta" hum, miam miam) by the french DarkSEOteam (here is their "Open letter to Matt Cutts") but it looks like that this time, things are getting more serious.
First of all, I must say that Greg has done a great job by spoiling V7N's little stupid yet another link contest game which requires to link to their website...it reminds me another contest from the same kind which ended very bad: a lot of links, no money.
Rand said that he was going to monitor Google's results pages.
His action has forced V7N to double the amount of money Greg was offering, so the prize is up to 4.000$ from V7N and 3.000$ from Greg...but he was joined by Mike & Todd.
Have a look on David Naylor's comments about the story.
Greg is giving more informations about the reasons why he did that.
You also have to read Mike's post and Todd' (aka Oilman) post.
Again, I must say bravo to Greg, but also Mike and Todd for joining him.
It's exactly the kind of ideas that when you hear about them, you wish that you had thought about it yourself.
I had the same feeling about the MillionDollarHomepage but not for the same reasons.
By the way, it looks like the MDHP isn’t reachable since last week. If it’s server problems, the guy has earned enough money to provide a decent service to all those companies and people who bought “A [invisible] piece of history”.
Here is my contribution to the V7Ndotcom Elursrebmem contest.
